The employment of a competent person to conduct slinging operations is an important role within lifting operations. Poor slinging is a contributory cause of crane accidents, which result not only in significant damage to plant, but also in severe injury to those doing the work or those nearby.
Training enables suitable employees to learn the basic elements of lifting operations.
