Description

This course provides the fundamental knowledge to perform tasks in workplaces where there is the
possibility of electrical risks.

At the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  • List the implications of the legislation on the use of electricity at work.
  • Identify electrical hazards in the workplace.
  • Describe protective measures against direct and indirect contact.
  • Basics of electrophysiology and definitions.
  • Voltage, current, power, resistance, etc.
  • Dangers due to physical contact with electric power
  • Electric shock, burns, tetanisation, heart failure, respiratory failure, etc.
  • Causes of electrical risk
  • Direct and indirect contact, lightning, fire and electric arc
  • Electrical risk – prevention and protection
  • Magnetic, thermal and differential switches, fuses, SPDs
  • Electrical equipment on worksites
  • Electric system according to the law, electric equipment supply, large extraneous conductive parts to be earthed
  • Caution and prevention measures

The course is addressed to managers, professionals and technicians, directly or indirectly involved
in the topics of electrical hazards.
